Kolkata : Digiplex (OTT Video Streaming Platform) announce their first Bengali web project, in association with Lucifer Films and Venture Films , titled ‘Lost’. ‘Lost’ is a supernatural thriller in the form of episodic series that is scheduled to stream on Digiplex from 2021. The series is a supernatural thriller that will delve into the dark history of few individuals whose lives are connected by a strange unknown force.
The Cast in the series include:
Veteran Indian actor and thespian Shantilal Mukherjee
Renowned actor and humanitarian Anindya Pulak Banerjee
Popular Bengali actor Indrashish Ray
Popular film and OTT face Poulomi Das ( of Rockky(2013) and Kamini fame)
Vibrant young actor Rishav Basu (who was previously seen in the film ‘Kuasha Jokhon’ and
will be seen in the upcoming Bengali film ’Bhotbhoti’)
Young Indian actor Husne Shabnam ( who has worked in critically acclaimed Malayali films
like ‘Katti Nrittam ‘ and worked in several regional and national TV commercials and web
series for Amazon Prime)
Bengali TV face Hiya Chakraborty who is known for featuring in Bengali daily soaps like Saat
Bhai Champa, Gangster Ganga. Jamai Raja to name a few.
Also seen in a pivotal role will be Ex- armyman turned actor Rudrashish Majumder. Rudrashish had featured alongside late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the film ‘Chhichhore’ and will be seen in the upcoming Hindi film ‘Jersey’ alongside Shahid Kapur. This will be the first time Rudrashish will be stepping into Tollywood and will be making his web debut through this series. The series will be directed by director duo Meenakshii & Abhishek. Known for the acclaimed Bengali film ‘Kuasha Jokhon’ this will be the director’s first OTT rendezvous. Elated with the announcement director Meenakshii said: “Lost will be a never seen before experience for the Indian audience and they will be clinging onto the edge of their seats till the very end. It will also be a visual treat for all”. Adding to this director Abhishek went on to say: “The team comprises of veterans and young vibrant faces who will add a different energy to the entire content viewing experience”
Executive Chairman & Managing Director, Digiplex , Dibyendu Roy Chowdhury said :” We have a vision to provide access to the maximum amount of premium entertainment to our users. To
enhance user experience we will be using superior technology. Not just offline video, online stream,
music stream; we are in this industry to create a moment for our audience. We will be launching in 2021, with a slate of 30 original shows, a library of 400-500 movies (including regional films) and over 1000 songs. About 1400 hours of content will be made available during launch.” The Music and Background Score will be rendered by IRAA award winning music director Shamik Guha Roy. He is known for having assisted in music and BGM for films like ‘Durgeshgorer Guptodhon’, ‘Byomkesh Gowtro’ etc. and has rendered music for the web content ‘Cabin Guard ‘(hoichoi). The cinematography would be done by Pramit Das, script by Sadeep Bhatatcharjee ( of ‘Switzerland’ fame) editing by renowned editor Pronoy Dasgupta ( Ek Je Chhilo Raja , Vinci Da fame) The web series is scheduled to go on floors from the end of August 2020 and will be streaming on the brand new OTT platform Digiplex from 2021. The shoot will be done following the standard SOP for web series in West Bengal and through strict guidelines of social distancing and other precautions pertaining to Covid-19
